# The Protocol at a Glance

Generos is the first protocol to make generosity economically legible. When you purchase and give [gems](https://docs.generos.io/protocol/role-of-the-gem) (digital items) to others, the act doesn't disappear. It enters the system, gets recorded on-chain, generates [Gencoin](https://docs.generos.io/tokenomics/gencoin-ggc) (a protocol token backed by real USDC), and compounds into a growing stake in what our community is building together.

This is not generosity as gesture. This is generosity as engine.

## Who It's For

#### For Individuals

> ***Give first. Own forever.***

In the modern charitable economy, generosity costs you. You give, a cause receives, and you have less. Generos is the first protocol to change that equation. Every act of giving is captured on-chain and the protocol responds: with a vault, with Gencoin, with a compounding stake in something our community actually owns. Your generosity doesn't disappear anymore. It builds a position.

#### For Cause-Based Organizations

> ***Your supporters become your economy.***

Traditional fundraising is a treadmill. You raise, you spend, you raise again. Each donation is a transaction with no memory. In Generos, every supporter who gives on your behalf earns a vault that keeps cycling. Their generosity doesn't end at the transaction. It compounds, generating Gencoin that flows toward the causes they care about. Your community doesn't just support you once. They build an economic stake in your mission that grows over time.

#### For Agents

> ***Generosity at scale.***

Agents in Generos are not shortcuts around the protocol. They are participants in it. When an agent acts on your behalf, it earns vaults, builds standing, and creates an on-chain record that is permanent and verifiable. The agent layer is how one person's generosity reaches further than any individual could go alone. Standing is earned through giving, not granted. Every agent that enters this ecosystem carries either your intent or its own. The protocol honors both.

## The New Partnership

Generos is designed for a world where your agents work on your behalf, translating your generosity into economic power while you live your life. You provide the intent: which causes matter, when to give, how deeply to participate. Your agents handle the execution.

The protocol exposes a JSON-RPC API that any agent (personal or third-party) can use to interact with the full Generos system: register, manage vaults, send gifts, fulfill help requests, and track wallet balances.

Virtue cannot be automated, but the infrastructure around it can be.

## How Value Flows

* When you purchase a gem, roughly 80% of that value flows into the Redemption Treasury and roughly 20% flows into the Platform Treasury, which funds protocol development and infrastructure
* The Treasury backs every Gencoin in circulation at a 1:1 ratio
* Gencoin is generated exclusively through vault cycling, directly linking generosity to value creation
* Gencoin can be contributed to organizations or redeemed to USDC through [Seed Redemption](https://docs.generos.io/systems/seed-redemption-system)
* 10% of every Seed Redemption flows automatically to the user's chosen organization
* Deflationary mechanisms (weekly coin burns) maintain token stability

## What Generos Is

Generos is built on the conviction that humanity's true value was never in labor. It was always in virtue. As automation reshapes the economy, the question is not how to compete with machines, but how to build an economic system where the things machines cannot do (empathy, generosity, connection) become the foundation of wealth.

Generos is that system. Regenerative, on-chain, transparent, owned by the people who fuel it.

The protocol embeds generosity at both ends of value: when vaults cycle, a default contribution flows to causes; when you redeem Gencoin to USDC, 10% flows automatically. You cannot purely extract. That is not a restriction. It is the architecture.

**Give first. Own forever.**
