How the Protocol Works

The Generos Protocol operates through a three-phase cycle: Give, Generate, and Grow. Each phase is both an action and an outcome. You participate in one phase and unlock the next.

Give: Purchasing and Gifting Gems

You begin by purchasing Gems (the units of active generosity that power the ecosystem). Gems come in seven tiers, starting at $5. When you purchase a Gem, approximately 80% of that amount flows directly into the Redemption Treasury.

You then gift that Gem to another community member. This gift is recorded on-chain and does two things:

First, it builds your vault collection. Each time you gift, you accumulate vaults (digital containers that store the generosity you've seeded). More vaults mean greater capacity to generate abundance.

Second, it initiates a vault connection between you and the recipient. These connections form the network layer of the protocol. They enable the ripple effects that amplify generosity beyond a single transaction.

Generate: Vaults Cycle and Create Gencoin

Vaults are regenerative engines. When a vault fills with community Gems (whether from direct gifts or through the vault algorithm's indirect gem flow), it reaches a cycling point and generates Gencoin.

Gencoin is the protocol's primary token. Each Gencoin is valued at 1 USD and backed 1:1 by USDC in the Redemption Treasury. Unlike tokens whose value is speculative, Gencoin is a claim on real, auditable financial assets.

The key mechanic: Gencoin generation is directly tied to giving. You cannot earn Gencoin without participating in generosity. The more you give, the more vaults you create, and the more vaults cycle into Gencoin generation.

Vault Connections and Indirect Gem Flow

The vault algorithm ensures that generosity ripples through the network. When you gift a Gem directly to another user's vault, you create a connection. Through this connection, the vault algorithm can route additional Gems indirectly. This rewards both the giver and receiver without requiring direct action.

A single gift can benefit multiple vaults across the network. The more connections a vault establishes, the higher its potential to receive indirect gems and generate Gencoin without ongoing effort. This is how a single act of generosity compounds across the system.

Grow: Direct Your Abundance

Once you've generated Gencoin, you have choices about how to deploy it.

Direct to Causes: You can allocate Gencoin to organizations and causes you care about. These are real economic contributions: organizations can redeem Gencoin for USDC and use it directly for their work. Your support deepens over time; the organizations that matter to you become invested in your success, and you become invested in theirs.

Redeem for USDC: You can convert your Gencoin back to USDC through redemption, translating protocol participation into real-world currency. The deeper your participation, the more you've earned, and the more substantial your return.

The growth phase is recursive. As you direct Gencoin and participate further, you deepen your stake in what's being built. The people who show up for others are the people who own the engine.

The Vault Algorithm

The vault algorithm is the protocol's core innovation. It operates on a simple principle: reward generosity with amplification.

When a Gem is gifted directly to a vault, the algorithm examines the sender's vault connections. It routes portions of that gift to related vaults in the network (not as a distribution system, but as an amplification mechanism). The network effect means that widespread, consistent giving generates exponential returns.

The algorithm is deterministic and on-chain. Every indirect gem flow is recorded and auditable. There is no randomness, no arbitrary reward structure: only the transparent mechanics of a system designed to amplify generosity.

The Flow of Value

Each step reinforces the next. You give, creating vaults and connections. Vaults cycle, generating Gencoin backed by real USDC. You deploy Gencoin toward causes or redeem it for currency. As more people participate, vault connections deepen, and the indirect gem flow compounds. The system strengthens itself through every act of generosity.

This is not a game of diminishing returns or zero-sum competition. This is a protocol where the more you give, the more you generate. The more the entire ecosystem generates with you.
