Platform Purpose
Is Generos an investment platform?
No, it is a regenerative-giving platform designed to promote generosity as an intentional and regular practice, and help unlock economic empowerment through digital ownership. Rather than seeking financial returns as the primary goal, Generos creates a system where generosity can be sustained and multiplied through community participation and network effects.
Is Generos purely a donation platform?
No. The primary actions on Generos aren't "donating" but rather "helping to fund" causes by promoting their missions. Users support causes through gem purchases and Gencoin contributions, while receiving incentivized rewards for their participation. This creates a sustainable ecosystem where users can continue funding causes over time, rather than making one-time donations that deplete resources. Generos exists to connect and economically empower givers while amplifying their impact on causes they care about.
Who is your customer?
Our primary customers are givers who want impact but face resource constraints or donor fatigue. They want to make a difference without depleting themselves.
Who receives the benefits?
Givers on our platform support:
Community members - helping others build giving capacity
Verified organizations - currently limited to eligible 501c3s
How do you verify recipient organizations?
We currently only allow verified eligible 501c3s to be added as supported organizations. In the near future, we see this expanding into a social impact funding mechanism for regenerative communities and DAOs.
What's the value proposition for givers?
The value proposition for givers comes from our transparency (blockchain verification), community connection (seeing impact multiply), and sustainability (ability to keep giving over time).
Basic Concepts
What is Generos?
Generos is a regenerative-giving platform designed to transform traditional fundraising through a token economy where generous actions generate sustainable funding capacity for givers. Our platform incentivizes users to collect and unlock digital vaults by purchasing gems for others, creating a giving system that is regenerative. This approach allows participants to practice generosity and support causes they care about while simultaneously experiencing economic empowerment through their acts of generosity.
How does Generos work?
You earn a new vault each time you purchase a gem for another person. Starting with a $5 Ruby gem purchase, you earn your first Ruby vault which generates 10 Gencoin (valued at $10) when it cycles. Higher gem tiers unlock even more earning potential.
What's a vault?
Each vault is an NFT recorded on-chain that has the potential to generate Gencoin. The more vaults you collect by contributing to others, the more of the Generos network you actually own—creating true stakeholder status in the giving ecosystem.
Value & Returns
How is the value generated? Where does it come from?
The value comes from our Redemption Treasury, which is funded by gem purchases. 80% of every gem purchase goes into the treasury as USDC, ensuring each Gencoin maintains its 1 USD value. This treasury backing enables your vault to generate Gencoin when it cycles, powered by our community's continuous gem purchases and network effects.
Is this really about giving if there's a return?
Generos begins with giving—you must purchase a gem for someone else first. The ROG (Return on Generosity) aspect encourages more sustainable giving over time. It's similar to blockchain validators who purchase equipment to secure a network—there's an upfront cost, but they receive tokens as incentives. In our case, users strengthen the giving network by purchasing gems for others, earning vault NFTs that generate Gencoin in return.
If I get something back, am I really giving?
Yes, you're genuinely giving in two important ways. First, every journey starts with purchasing a gem for someone else—a direct act of giving. Second, Gencoin generated through vaults is frequently donated to causes within the Generos ecosystem. When users contribute Gencoin to these causes, those funds create real-world impact.
Strategy & Mechanics
What gamification elements does Generos use to make giving more engaging?
In Generos, we've integrated several game-like mechanics that make giving more engaging:
Achievement System: Users collect vaults and work to fill them with gems, creating a satisfying progression system with clear goals. As users give more and build their networks, they earn recognition within the community, similar to achievement badges in gaming platforms.
Reward Cycles: When vaults fill with gems and 'cycle,' users get the dopamine hit of earning Gencoin - similar to leveling up in games. This creates a satisfying feedback loop where generous actions lead to tangible rewards. Each vault has a specific capacity of gems that must be filled before cycling. As gems accumulate in your vault, you can visually track your progress toward the next cycle, creating anticipation and motivation. Once a vault cycles, it immediately begins filling again, establishing an ongoing rhythm of giving and receiving that keeps users engaged over the long term. This sustainable reward cycle stands in contrast to traditional one-time donations where the giving experience ends abruptly after the transaction.
Balance of Impact and Earning: This is central to our platform. We track the G/E Ratio (Giving to Earning Ratio) that shows how much Gencoin a user has contributed versus earned. It creates a dynamic tension where users are motivated both to increase their earnings and their impact, finding their own personal balance between the two.
Network Building: Users are incentivized to build connections between vaults, creating a strategy element where users optimize their vault network for maximum indirect gem flow. We enhance this with Impact Interests, where users can specify their areas of impact by choosing from over 120 Impact tags. Circles can define their own Impact tags, and every organization gets an impact tag based on its NTEE code. This influences the algorithm, connecting users with similar interests and creating meaningful communities around shared causes.
Stats & Leaderboards: We track multiple metrics that quantify different aspects of generosity, creating a comprehensive profile of each user's impact. These include Intention (intentional acts of generosity completed), Influence (unique users to whom you've gifted gems), Impact (total Gencoin donated to organizations), G/E Ratio (percentage of earned Gencoin that's been given), and ROG (Return on Generosity, measuring financial efficiency). These stats are visible on user profiles, creating friendly competition and social recognition for generous actions. Within Circles, members can see each other's contributions toward collective goals, fostering accountability and celebration of group achievements. This visibility transforms generosity from a private act into a community-building activity where members inspire and motivate each other through their visible progress and impact.
The key difference from traditional games is that these mechanics serve a higher purpose - they're designed to make generosity more rewarding and sustainable while creating real-world impact. Unlike typical games where the goal is just entertainment, Generos creates a virtuous cycle where your success on the platform translates to both personal benefit and greater capacity to support causes you care about.
Can I purchase crypto directly from the Generos platform?
No. Generos doesn't sell cryptocurrency. Instead, you earn digital assets through participation:
Vaults (NFTs): Earned by purchasing gems for others
Gencoin (GGC): Generated when your vaults cycle
Seed (GSD): Earned through community activities
Cash (GCH): Obtained through the Seed redemption process
Good Token (GGT): Rewarded for specific platform contributions
This approach ensures that value flows from genuine participation rather than direct financial investment and speculation, keeping our community focused on generosity and contribution.
Is there a limit to how many Vaults I can earn?
No. Vaults are a token of reciprocity from the platform. They are rewarded to promote peer-to-peer community support and also serve as a "proof of generosity" of sorts. Gift a gem, earn a vault!
Are "direct" gifts from people the only way my Vaults receive gems?
No. Your vaults can receive gems in two ways:
Direct gifts when other members specifically send gems to your vault
Indirect flow through the vault algorithm, which distributes gems through your vault connections automatically
This network effect is what makes Generos truly powerful - your vaults can fill with gems and generate Gencoin an infinite number of times, creating ongoing value from your initial participation!
What's the strategy for users on Generos?
The name of the game is collecting and unlocking vaults — so strategy comes down to balancing your gem spend against your generation potential.
The core strategy on Generos revolves around UNLOCKING VAULTS. This should be everyone's top priority!
Why This Matters: When we collectively focus on unlocking vaults, it activates the Vault Algorithm for ALL users. This creates a powerful network effect where each unlocked vault strengthens the entire ecosystem.
The ROG Formula:
ROG (Return on Generosity) = ((Value Generated - Gem Cost) ÷ Gem Price) × 100%
Initial Cost: $5 gem purchase
Return: Ruby vault generates 10 Gencoin ($10 USD value) per cycle
Initial ROG: (($10 - $5) ÷ $5) × 100% = 100% ROG
As our network grows:
More unlocked vaults = more Gencoin generation
More vault connections = more indirect gem flow
Higher gem tiers = more Gencoin per cycle
Primary Strategy:
Focus on unlocking your vaults first - turning dormant assets into generators
Help others unlock their vaults - be a Key Helper
Form unlock partnerships to ensure mutual success
Avoid Over-extending with Health Indicators:
Health indicators are your safeguard against generosity burnout
Empty health is a signal to pause and recharge before giving more
The platform is designed for marathon giving, not sprints
Sustainable giving creates more impact long-term than exhausting your resources at once
Remember: Your success depends on others' success! The algorithm works best when many vaults are unlocked, creating a thriving network of indirect gem flow that benefits everyone.
What are Vault Connections?
Each gem gifted strengthens vault connections, increasing automated gem flow through our dynamic algorithm—helping you generate more with less effort.
These connections are links established between two vaults when one user receives a direct gem gift from another. This connection is a fundamental component of the platform's ecosystem, enabling a dynamic and interactive environment for its users.
Formation of Connections: A Vault Connection is initiated the moment a user gifts a gem directly to another user's targeted vault. This direct interaction between users not only fosters a sense of community but also activates a critical mechanism within the platform's economy.
Role in Indirect Gem Flow: Once established, these connections become conduits for the indirect flow of gems between vaults, facilitated by the platform's underlying vault algorithm. This means that connections not only symbolize direct relationships between users but also play a crucial role in the broader distribution of gems across the platform.
Strategic Advantage: Cultivating a network of Vault Connections is a strategic approach to enhancing a user's Gencoin earning potential. Each connection increases the likelihood of receiving gems indirectly, thus boosting the user's ability to generate Gencoin through the cycling of their vaults.
Boosting Earning Potential: The more connections a vault has, the greater its chances of participating in the indirect gem flow, making Vault Connections a key strategy for users aiming to maximize their rewards and influence within the platform.
Vision & Innovation
What's the disruptive idea behind Generos?
We're tackling two challenges simultaneously: Consider nonprofits addressing poverty and economic development—what if the very people who receive support from these causes could use our platform to increase their own giving capacity while personally experiencing economic benefit? This creates a virtuous cycle where supporters themselves are economically empowered while helping others.
How does Generos increase overall giving?
Traditional giving depletes resources—once you donate $5, it's gone. Generos transforms this model by making giving regenerative. Our approach:
Expands the pool of givers by making participation more accessible
Increases giving frequency through sustainable incentives
Creates compound impact through network effects
Enables long-term participation instead of one-time donations
This means someone can give and contribute monthly for years rather than making a single $100 donation and stopping. The math is simple: more givers giving more frequently equals greater overall impact for causes. By aligning personal benefit with generous action, we're creating a system where giving becomes a sustainable, ongoing practice rather than an occasional sacrifice.
How is this different from traditional giving platforms?
We're disrupting the giving platform space where givers are underserved participants - treated as if they have endless resources. Generos is about growing the pie of givers first, making giving more attractive to people who rarely donate due to limited resources or donor fatigue.
Getting Started
How do I start with Generos?
Request an invite to join the Generos community. Once confirmed, your journey will begin with a $5 gem gift.
What's the first step after joining?
Begin your Generos journey by collecting your first digital vault. Each vault you collect holds the potential to generate Gencoin - a community token valued at 1 US Dollar. To unlock your first vault, you'll need two Key Helpers (other members) to gift gems directly to your vault. Once unlocked, you will be able to earn the Gencoin your vault generates. When your vault fills with the required number of gems, it will cycle and generate your first 10 Gencoin, which you can then use to support causes or convert to Cash through the Seed Redemption process.
What can I do with my Gencoin?
You have two primary options for your Gencoin:
Contribute to Organizations and Circle funding goals on the platform, supporting causes you care about while building your Impact stats.
Convert them to Cash via the Seed Redemption process, following the 50/10 rule: when you redeem Seed, 50% of your Gencoin can be converted to Cash, while 10% is automatically contributed to organizations of your choice. This process ensures both personal benefit and continued support for causes.
Your strategic use of Gencoin helps fuel the giving cycle that benefits both you and the entire Generos ecosystem.
